Here are a few observations we culled from sources we regularly review that relate to business transitions.

Multiples Remain Strong

It is a "remarkable time to sell" according to those completing the Q2 M&A Source/Pepperdine MarketPulse survey. There is strong interest in companies coming to market. Most have shaken off the bad years of the recession, and are achieving good multiples at sale. Read the report.

CEOs remain overwhelmingly optimistic about the business climate. A survey conducted by Marcum LLP found 91%  giving the economy a rating of between 6 and 10. Investing in employee talent was top of their list of priorities. More about the survey

Manufacturing employment is rebounding. According to Industry Week: “Since the end of the recession in 2009, manufacturing employment in this country has risen by nearly 1.3 million workers, to a total of more than 12.7 million jobs. And a quarter-million of those manufacturing jobs were added in the last 12 months alone...”” Read the article
